Does the whole house need the same treatment?
On a steep Coogee block, usually not. The sheltered side of a house up the hill can be in good condition while the exposed downhill face is well past due, and treating both identically means either overspending on one or underdoing the other. We quote elevation by elevation and tell you which ones actually need doing now.
Can you paint my retaining wall?
If it is sound, yes. If it is cracked, bulging or damp through, painting it hides a problem that is structural rather than cosmetic, and we would be doing you no favours. We will look at it, tell you plainly what we think we are seeing, and where it is beyond a paint job say so — a wall holding back a slope is not the place to be optimistic.
The only way to the back is up an external staircase. Is that a problem?
It is normal here, and it is a planning question rather than an obstacle. It affects how gear gets to the rear, how long setup takes each morning, and sometimes whether the lower elevations can be safely reached at all.
